　　SAINT-ETIENNE, France (AP) -- French forward Djibril Cisse will miss the World Cup after his right leg buckled during Wednesday night's 3-1 win over China.

　　"Everyone is devastated," France coach Raymond Domenech said. "He is in the hospital. He is being operated on. I'm not a doctor. I don't know the exact nature of the injury."

　　Cisse chased the ball down the right flank in the 10th minute and was knocked off balance. As he fell, Cisse's leg twisted under him. He left the field on a stretcher.

　　"It's so tough, to hear Djibril scream like that," teammate Thierry Henry said. "You lose a teammate and also a friend. But he is tough, he will come back."

　　With French President Jacques Chirac on hand, 1998 World Cup hero Zinedine Zidane played his final match on French soil and sent a penalty kick over the crossbar in the 14th minute.

　　David Trezeguet (30th minute) and Henry (second-half injury time) scored for France, which also got an own goal in the 89th minute when Yun Wang tried to clear a cross from Franck Ribery and sent it into the net from 15 yards.

　　Zhi Zheng converted a penalty kick for China in the 69th after he was tripped by Eric Abidal.

　　"We showed some good play going forward and had good movement in attack, but we did not finish that well," Domenech said. "It was tough because we were holding back a bit and playing with one foot on the brakes. However, we were solid at the back."

　　France plays its World Cup opener Tuesday against Switzerland. China failed to qualify after going 0-3 at the 2002 tournament.
