現任中央電視臺分黨組成員、副臺長、高級編輯。1960年6月出生於吉林省敦化市，1980年-1984年就讀于吉林大學。1984年7月畢業分配到中央電視臺，曾任新聞採訪部主任、新聞評論部主任，1998年2月任新聞節目中心主任，2000年任中央電視臺副總編，2005年5月任現職。

　　1993年獲中國新聞界編輯最高獎--首屆"韜奮新聞獎"；1995年被評為"中國十大傑出青年"； 1997年被選為中國共産黨第15屆全國代表大會代表。

　　1993年、1994年和1996年分別參與策劃並創辦了"東方時空"、"焦點訪談"、 "新聞調查"和"實話實説"。1997年參與策劃實施了72小時大型直播"香港回歸特別報道"， 期間為駐香港總部節目負責人。1999年參與策劃實施了"國慶50年慶典"、"澳門回歸"、 "相逢2000"等特別節目。2003年出版理論專著《十年---從改變電視的語態開始》。2004年曾兼任中數傳媒總裁。

　　He currently is the member of sub-group of Communist Party in China Central Television (CCTV), the vice-president of CCTV and a senior editor. In June, 1960, He was borned in Dunhun city of Jilin province and had been educated in Jilin University during 1980 to 1984. In July, 1984 Mr. Sun was assigned to work in CCTV after graduation and took the position of the director of News Gathering Department and director of the News Commentary Department. In February, 1998, he was appointed as the director of the News and Program Center and in 2000 was appointed as the deputy general editor. From May, 2005 until now, he is in the position mentioned firstly.

　　In 1993, Mr. Sun obtained the top award of Chinese Journalists- the first “Taofen Press award”; He was appraised as one of the “The best 10 Youth of China” in 1995; In 1997, he was voted as one of the representatives of the 15th National Congress of Communist party.

　　In 1993, 1994 and 1996, he attended, schemed and founded the program of “Dong Fang Shi Kong ”, “ Key issue discussion”, “ News Investigation”, “Shi Hua Shi Shuo ” respectively. In 1997, Mr Sun attended and executed the live program of “The special report for the Hong Kong return” and in the meantime, he was in charge of the program department of Hong Kong. In 1999, he joined the producing group of program: “The celebration of the 50th National holiday”, “The return of Marco”, “Meet in 2000” and was one of the executors in these programs.

　　In the year of 2003, he published a theoretical monograph which is called as-“Ten Years-Beginning from Changing Voice of Television” and in 2004, he held a concurrent post as a president of China DTV Media Inc. Ltd.
