Dave Gordon is Head of Major Events at BBC Sport. Over the last twenty-five years, Dave has worked on seven Olympic Games, taking the editorial lead in Sydney and Athens; six Winter Olympics and seven Commonwealth Games. He also leads the editorial coverage of the BBC’s Athletics events including the London Marathon, Great North Run and World and European Championships.
He has won numerous awards including BAFTAs for leading the teams at the Sydney and Athens Olympics as well as the Manchester Commonwealth Games.
Dave’s BBC career started in 1972, when he became a Radio Studio Manager, specialising in News, Current Affairs and Sports Programmes. He became a Producer and then Senior Producer in 1983. By 1984, he was editing daily sport news coverage before moving to Television in 1985.
