The Jiangsu team grabbed a gold medal in the women's track cycling competition. Tang Kerong beat the defending champion by a single point for the win.

Some of the top cyclists in China took part in this 100 lap event. Defending champion Li Yan was one of the favorites, and Jiangsu's Tang Kerong emerged as her top rival in the race. But the contest would come down to an unusual ending. The rules say each rider must do all 100 circuits of the oval, but seven contestants found themselves trapped with 40 laps to go and unable to advance. All of the riders were ordered to stop, and after the restart, Jiangsu's Tang Ketong took charge. She beat Li Yan by one point to win the gold medal.

Four riders from two sides started the men's team pursuit race. Shandong defeated Tianjin by a slim 1.6 second margin to notch the gold and establish a new Asian record.
