Time now for a brief introduction to south China's Hainan province.

Hainan province lies in the southern tip of China, and is one of the five special economic zones in the country. Haikou is its provincial capital.

The population of permanent residents in the province was 8.5 million last year.

As the second largest island of China, Hainan is a province with the largest ocean area of the country.

It is endowed with a natural tropical scenery, and characterized by unique folk customs.

With fifty percent forest coverage, the island is green through all four seasons, and boasts a wide variety of tropical fruit.

The beautiful beaches and clear air make it one of the most popular tourist attractions in China.

The coastal town of Boao has been holding a forum every year since 2001.

The Boao Forum for Asia is a non-governmental, non-profit international organization. It provides a platform for government, business and academic leaders in Asia and other continents to share opinions.

And the Crown of Beauty Theater in Sanya held the Miss World beauty pageant from 2003 to 2005.
