New reforms in schools are now offering better education to children of migrant workers in Shanghai's Pudong new and Jinshan districts.

In these private-run schools, students get the same treatment as that meted out to registered permanent resident students. They will also be exempt from tuition fees and extras. They will just have to pay for their board and possible medical costs. That brings the cost for one semester from 1000 to 600 yuan.
