President Hu stresses cooperation in sidelines of trilateral leaders' meeting

President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao have met with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama on the sidelines of the trilateral leaders' meeting.

President Hu Jintao spoke highly of China's relations with both countries. He said the trio are developing a Strategic Cooperative Partnership and expanding cooperation in various fields.

He expressed his intentions to improve China's relations with both countries, and stressed the importance of working towards peace, cooperation and the development of East Asia.

South Korean President Lee Myung-bak noted that the cooperation among the three countries has made great accomplishments in the past decade. He added that China has played and important role in the recovery of the economies of South Korea and Japan.

Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama said Japan will work closely with China and promote the improvement of the Sino-Japan relations.

Premier Wen Jiabao also held meetings with Lee Myung-bak and Yukio Hatoyama on Saturday afternoon.
