China's aircraft carrier the Liaoning and other warships have formed a fleet for a drill on the Yellow Sea. Several  J-15 fighter jets took off from the carrier, and conducted missions including aerial refuelling and aerial combating.

The Liaoning has made it possible for China to train shipborne fighter pilots.  Several pilots have been certified for flying carrier-based jets. The Liaoning has also carried out drills with over ten types of missiles, with jets and the carrier hitting their targets.
