China's military has carried out its first live-fire drills using its aircraft carrier and fighter jets in the northeastern Bohai Sea. Dozens of vessels and aircraft engaged in air-to-air, air-to-sea and sea-to-air combat drills that featured guided missiles.

China's Soviet-built Liaoning aircraft carrier and a formation of warships carried out aerial interceptions, as well as anti-aircraft and anti-missile drills. Multiple groups of J-15 carrier-borne fighter jets carrying live missiles also participated. The live-fire drill is a landmark for the carrier battle group, as the vessels and aircraft achieved a high level of integration and cooperation.
