To the snooker table for the second round of the UK Championship, where 10 players from the Chinese mainland would be looking to reach the next stage. That group includes Yu Delu, who continued his run with a 6-4 upset victory against former world champ Stuart Bingham. Compatriot Zhou Yuelong has also gone through, after beating Michael Holt 6-1.

Another key match in Round Two pits Mark Selby against Daniel Wells. The World Number One goes for a break of 47 in the opening frame, but then begins to struggle with his consistency.

That allows his Welsh opponent to mount a comeback, and Wells would soon take the frame.

And the Jester From Leicester later trails 3-1, before reeling off five of the last six frames. Selby crafting a 6-4 victory, to advance to the third round in York.

Meanwhile, John Higgins would take on Thailand's Noppon Saengkham, who sits 69 places below the Scotsman in the rankings. The score is tied at two frame apiece, before Saengkham takes control in the fifth with a break of 131, to go ahead 3-2.

But Higgins has the answer in the sixth, as he busts out a run of 126. Even though the Thai takes the seventh to restore his advantage, the Wizard of Wishaw wins the last three frames to close out the match 6-4. So the world number four is heading to the Last 32.
