Across the Pacific Ocean, the Dallas Mavericks were one of just three winless teams left in the NBA this season. But they hoped to finally break into the victory column as they hosted the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Mavs signed Harrison Barnes away from Golden State by offering him a max contract this past summer, and he would make them feel better about that investment with a breakout performance in this contest.

Milwaukee come out strong with Jabari Parker running the show, on his way to a team-high 16 points.

But Barnes takes over in the second half, and his lay-up with 14 seconds left in regulation forces overtime.

The big man then helps Big D pull away in the extra session, en route to scoring a career-best 34 points.

JJ Barea adds 21 as Dallas win by 11, leaving Philly and New Orleans as the league's only winless teams.

Elsewhere, Nick Young's 23 points led the Lakers past Phoenix, who got 39 from Devin Booker. Former Guangdong Southern Tiger Emmanuel Mudiay scored 30 in Denver's win over Boston. Gordon Hayward returned from injury to pour in 28 points as Utah beat New York. CJ McCollum's 37 points helped Portland sink Memphis, and Sacramento raced past Toronto.
