Despite this, Simon comes back strong to win the second set 6-3. And a dominating display in the third leaves him at match point and books his place in the next phase when he charges down the court to finish off an easy volley. The world number 24 advances 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

BAGHDATIS BEATS MATHIEU 6-2 , 6-4

Also in action is Marcos Baghdatis at the top of your screen, who is facing wild-card Paul-Henri Mathieu. At 5-2 up in the first, the Cypriot, who is serving for the set, gets on his way to going one up with this unorthodox drop shot.

And an easy 6-2, 6-4 win is completed in just over an hour when the Frenchman's returns finds the net. Up next for Baghdatis is number 14 seed, Grigor Dimitrov.
