To the NBA, where Kevin Durant and the Golden State Warriors were looking to bounce back from their season opening loss to San Antonio. But the Dubs would have to contend with the New Orleans Pelicans and a red hot Anthony Davis. "The Brow" tipped-off the campaign with 50 points and 16 rebounds as the Pellies lost to Denver, making him just the third player to begin the campaign hitting the half-century mark in the last five decades. So what could he do for an encore?

Davis missed the final month of last season with knee and shoulder injuries, but is clearly back, scoring 45 points and grabbing 17 rebounds in this contest. Becoming the first player with 90-plus points in the first two games of a campaign since Michael Jordan 30 years ago. But Golden State would figure out how to better involve their stars, as Durant pours in 30, Klay Thompson nets 28, and Steph Curry adds 23 in an eight-point win.

Westbrook leads OKC with 51 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists

Durant's former running mate Russell Westbrook led the Oklahoma City Thunder to victory over Philadelphia in their first game since the Slim Reaper left for G-State, and in their home opener against the Phoenix Suns, Westbook would go for 51 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. He's the first player to hit the half-century mark as part of a triple-double since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 41 years ago. TJ Warren paces PHX with 30 points, but OKC win by three in O.T.

Elsewhere, Trevor Ariza scored 27 points and James Harden added 24 to lead Houston over Dallas. Charlotte beat Miami. Kyrie Irving poured in 26 points while LeBron James contributed 24 to lead Cleveland past Toronto. George Hill's 23 points paced Utah by the Lakers. Jeremy Lin just missed a triple-double, tallying 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists as Brooklyn topped Indy. Detroit defeated Orlando.
