The women's final came down to third seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland taking on number 11, Great Britain's Johanna Konta for the title.

Radwanska, who is known as the Professor by her fellow players on the WTA tour for the cerebral way she goes about her game, had a chance to win for the second time here in Beijing after capturing the trophy in 2011, and her intelligent style of play would lead her to her 20th career title.

That's Radwanska returning in the pink and up 4-2 in the first set. Konta goes for a drop shot but the Pole easily gets to it and scoops it down the line.

But Aga would falter when trying to serve out the set and Konta now has break point. Radwanksa with a high lob, and Konta cranks it into the net, wasting her break opportunity.

Set point for Radwanska and when Konta's return finds the net, she takes it 6-4.

The Pole would roll from there, taking control early in the second set when she loads up and delivers a big forehand winner en route to breaking Konta for a 2-1 lead.

Radwanska would earn another break and is now up 5-2. She tries a series of slices on the Brit and when Konta comes to the net she lobs it to the back corner leading Konta in a futile chase.

Radwanska seals it in style with an ace on match point. 6-2 in the second to cap off an impressive tournament for the world number 3 who did not drop a set all week in claiming her second China Open title. Konta will also leave happy as her run to the final means she will be in the top ten of the world ranking for the first time.
