Chinese club suffer first home loss of the season at Kontinental Hockey League

Moving to the Kontinental Hockey League, the first Chinese team in the Russian-based league, Kunlun red Star have gotten off to a decent start, picking up wins in their first three home games. The team that will play half the time in Beijing, and the other half in Shanghai toppled Admiral, Neftekhimik and Lada, but would face a true test against Ak Bars Kazan, one of the circuit's traditional powerhouses.

This contest would take place in Shanghai -- and Kunlun would take advantage of a powerplay in the first Tomas Marcinko's point shot goes through the keeper to make it 1-nothing.

It remains that way until the third -- Andrei Chibisov skates down the right wing, and with the defenseman on him, bakhands a puck at the net, before tapping in his own rebound, that would be the winner, as Ak Bars Kazan grab a 3-2 win.
