308 athletes will represent PRC in Brazil during Paralympic Games

To Brazil, and the upcoming Paralympic Games, where in the city, a national flag-raising ceremony for the Chinese delegation was held. The event occurring two days before the games are set to get underway.

The ceremony featured a different array of Brazilian culture which included music and dancing. The event at the Olympic village was also used as a chance for the team to announce wheelchair fencer Rong Jing as the nation's flag bearer during the opening ceremony.

China has sent a total of 308 athletes to compete across 328 events in 17 different sports making it the biggest ever Chinese Paralympic squad to compete at a Games outside of its home country.

"Our athletes come here with friendship and the love to their country. At the same time they will also show sportsmanship and try to achieve good result. I believe they will give it all and I send my best wishes to them," said Zhang Haidi, Chinese Paralympics ambassador.
