Business leaders from the top economies continue their conversations in Hangzhou. The key subject is driving growth. They are focusing on robust trade, investment, and common development.

A number of political figures from China and the world joined the discussion. Panelists agreed that trade and investments are key to sustainable development and they say countries should not adopt protectionism policies.

They also are supportive of letting emerging markets share in the global growth and have more of a voice on the world stage.

The two-day meeting began Saturday. Chinese President Xi Jinping gave an address during the opening ceremony.

Business leaders say they have heard a message of lifting global trade, with more attention on the digital economy and infrastructure building.

“The free trade is important at the moment, some countries are implementing a game. Protectionism. That is not good. We always welcome open to all policy. We always welcome free trade agreement,” said Dr. Jonathan K.S. Choi, chairman of Sunwah Group.

“Another point President Xi mentions are very good are the future driving for growth. Every body is talking about it. Innovation is very important. Innovation is the future drive for growth. That is a very good point. I fully agree to that.”

“If you talk about digital driven economy, you talk about technology. You are talking about new things available to people. Look at history, there is always bunch of new technology coming up,” said Dr. Robert H. Xiao, CEO of Perfect World.

“There will be new opportunities in terms of growth, new sectors, something people don’t heard of. People need to lay our eyes on creating content. Turning the technology into high quality product.”
