Manchester United visited newly promoted Hull City. Somewhat surprisingly, particularly for the hosts, both sides have begun the season with perfect records and Jose Mourinho's men were expected to continue that run. But in a tight match that saw many of United's big names unable to find the net, it would come down to their fast-rising 18 year old star Marcus Rashford to get the job done.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic goes close twice in the first half for United, while Wayne Rooney is denied by a brilliant first-half block from Hull captain Curtis Davies.

The hosts spend most of the match on the defensive but do create some threatening moments when Tom Huddlestone's shot is deflected just wide inside the final 15 minutes.

Teenage forward Rashford, left out of the starting line-up for each of United's opening three matches, makes his case for greater involvement as he comes on as a substitute to convert Rooney's low cross from close range and give United a 1-0 victory.

"The two matches where we needed a winning goal against Leicester and tonight he (Marcus Rashford) came on and gave us diversity in our football because he is different to (Wayne) Rooney, to Zlatan (Ibrahimovic), so I am really happy with him but also with the squad and the team," said Jose Mourinho, Manchester United manager.

Elsewhere, Arsenal and champions Leicester picked up their first wins of the Premier League season while Tottenham Hotspur came from behind at home to draw 1-1 with Liverpool. Chelsea remain perfect and on top of the table after beating Burnley 3-0, Crystal Palace drew 1-1 with Bournemouth while Southampton and Sunderland did the same.
