Full coverage: 2016 Rio Olympics

One of the highlights of the opening ceremony was the Refugee team coming out to a warm reception at the Maracana stadium. The group of 10 were unable to compete for their own countries, and their inclusion in the Games, is helping highlight the issues in their nations.

CCTV's Tracey Holmes spoke to one member of the squad -- Yusra Mardini, whose swimming skills helped her and a group of other refugees fleeing Syria, pulling a leaking dinghy to the Greek shore. Those skills also helped her get to the Olympic Games, and discussed that on the eve of her one-year anniversary of leaving her country.
