The second day of medal competition in Rio was hit by strong winds, as heavy gusts wiped out the rowing schedule. The weather also caused delays at the tennis tournament.
One of the players who was able to complete her first round match despite the problems was China's Wang Qiang. The 24-year-old who draws inspiration from her country's retired icon, Li Na,would fall in three sets against Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova.
But even a loss can be a positive learning experience, as her coach Peter McNamara told Tracey Holmes.
