Nations and their delegations have been arriving in Brazil, and that includes a special team without a country, or countries. This year, 10 athletes from across the globe are participating under the Olympic banner -- for the Olympic refugee delegation. Of the 10-members on the squad, five are from South Sudan, and they are now in Rio.

The group looks happy to be on Brazilian soil. The five runners had to flee their country due to conflict -- and had to train in Kenya at a refugee camp. This is the first time displaced participants have been recognized at the Olympics.

Rounding out the team will be two swimmers from Syria, two judokas from the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as an Ethiopian marathon runner -- they will arrive later. The team's Chef de Mission is Tegla Loroupe, an Olympian and former marathon world record holder from Kenya, who along with the team members, feels their inclusion highlights the Olympic spirit.

"My dream has come true, and I'm very excited because it's the first time we can participate in the Olympics, and we are really happy," said Rose Nathike Lokonyen, South Sudanese Refugee Olympian.

"This is the first time refugees can participate in the Olympics. Also it is the first time I'll participate. I am very grateful. I hope that being a refugee doesn't mean we can't do anything. Refugees are human beings like other people. Refugees can do something like somebody else," said Paulo Amotun Lokoro, South Sudanese Refugee Olympian.

"It means a lot because the President of the IOC realized that there's a need for an athlete with a refugee status to compete at the Olympics," said Tegla Loroupe, Refugee Team Chief De Mission.
