Wimbledon: S. Williams sweeps past Kuznetsova

Over on the women's side -- Serena Williams was in a battle with Svetlana Kuznetsova for a berth in the quarter-finals. The American also got into an argument with the umpire over the playing conditions after rains started to affect play. The official did not postpone the match, right away and that prompted the defending champ to threaten a lawsuit if she got injured during the match.

Play would be delayed for about a half hour when the closed the roof on centre court. Serena took the opener 7-5, but was in a groove in the next frame -- and shows off some nice touch at the net with the drop half volley -- and leads 3-love.

The top seed would not drop a game in the second and seals victory when the Russian fires her return long on match point. Seeking a seventh Wimbledon title and 22nd Grand Slam trophy overall, Williams next faces 21st seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova for a place in the last four.

36-year-old is oldest Quarter-finalist since 1994
