The documentary "Chang'an Avenue" has premiered at Tsinghua University in Beijing. The film presents a review of the history of the landmark avenue in the Chinese capital.

"Chang'an Avenue" chronicles the historic events the street has witnessed over the past sixty years.

It was created by the China Central Newsreel and Documentary Studio.

Most of the footage comes from studio archives. Some video materials are being viewed in public for the first time.

Extending east to west in the heart of the city, Chang'an Avenue links numerous important buildings, such as Tian'anmen Square and the Palace Musuem.

An original juxtaposition of video footages from past and present gives Chang'an Avenue a strong sense of history and visual impact.

Director Lan Bing says the production has been included in the 50 major tribute movies for the 60th anniversary of New China.
