Reception held to mark new China's 60th anniversary in Nepal

KATHMANDU, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, a reception was held in Kathmandu on Tuesday evening.

The reception, hosted by the Nepal China Society, was attended by top senior political leaders, diplomats, scholars, media persons among others at the invitation of Prem Kumari Pant, President of the Nepal China Society.

Nepali Minister for Home Affairs Bhim Rawal, Minister for Finance Surendra Pandey, Constituent Assembly Chairman Subash Nemwang, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Qiu Guohong joined the reception to mark the celebration.

Vice Chairman of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) Prakash, leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) Pradeep Nepal and former Nepali envoys to China and Chinese volunteer teachers, together with Chinese staffs in the embassy, cheered the reception to mark the grand event.

On the occasion, Prem Kumari Pant lauded the Nepal-China close friendship relation and highlighted the development achieved by China during the past three decades.
