A YouGov poll for the Sun newspaper put Conservative leader David Cameron in first place with 36 percent, Nick Clegg of the Liberal Democrats in second with 32 percent, and Brown last with 29 percent.
A ComRes poll for ITV News put Clegg ahead with 33 percent, with Brown and Cameron both at 30. The three men are the leading candidates for prime minister, in the run up to a national election scheduled for May 6. Earlier polls had pointed to a Conservative win, but recent surveys have suggested that no party may win an overall majority.
