Travellers continue to face cancellations across Asia following the resumption of various flights to Europe disrupted by the Icelandic volcano. Millions of people have been stranded at the end of the busy Easter holiday season. Air traffic between Beijing and Europe has partially resumed.

It comes seven days after a huge ash cloud from the volcano stranded air traffic in Europe and beyond. But at least 18 flights to and from European cities were cancelled in Beijing on Tuesday. In Japan many flights from Tokyo to hubs such as London and Paris are still cancelled. Flights from Tokyo to Zurich and Istanbul are running.

Some passengers have used the alternative routes to find a way back. In Hong Kong, most flights to Europe are still grounded. However at least six planes to Paris, Toulouse, Frankfurt, Munich and Amsterdam are set to take off.
