Hundreds of medical teams from across the country are heading to the quake zone. One is made up of survivors from the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake.
The team includes 17 volunteers from Wenchuan's medical system. They have also brought relief materials to the region.
Dr. Chen Daqing, Wenchuan People's Hospital, said, "We experienced the pain caused by an earthquake. At that time, we received support from the whole country. That moved us a lot. Now, Yushu people are suffering a similar tragedy. I think it's our duty to stand up and help them."
Shaanxi and Yunnan provinces have also sent experienced medical teams to Yushu.
