Donations flood into quake-hit area

Chinese across the country are doing what they can to help the quake-affected province of Qinghai.

Nearly 160- thousand cotton coats, 190-thousand quilts, 100,000 portions of field food, 185 tonnes of food, 400 mobile houses, 20,000 camp beds, and 500 mobile toilets have been collected and are on the way to the region.

Local governments around China have donated about 170 million yuan, or around 25 million U.S. dollars to the quake-hit region.

The Chinese Red Cross Foundation has received nearly 14 million yuan in donations and another 19 million yuan of promised funds as of Friday evening.
