Special Report: Polish President Dies In Plane Crash |
Members of Russia's Emergency Ministry continue to search the crash site, which killed the Polish President, Lech Kaczyski and a significant portion of the country's military and political leaders.
Both black boxes from the plane have been found. Preliminary results indicate pilot error could be the cause of the accident that killed all 96 on board. The aging aircraft crashed in thick fog near Smolensk in western Russia on Saturday.
The Polish President had been planning to mark the 70th anniversary of the massacre of Polish officers by Soviet forces in the nearby Katyn forest. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev declared April 12th, a day of national mourning to mark the tragedy.
