The Chinese Mainland and Taiwan have reached a series of agreements, related to the long-sought economic pact. The announcement was made in a statement, released after Thursday's session, of the second round of expert level talks on the deal.

During the two-day talks, both sides exchanged views on operational and technological topics for the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement, which is intended to normalize Mainland-Taiwan commercial ties, and bring the two economies closer.

The officials in attendance spoke highly of the negotiations.

Tang Wei, official of Chinese Ministry of Commerce, said, "We have conducted free, thorough, and very useful communication, drawing upon the wisdom of everyone at the talks."

According to Thursday's statement, it was agreed that both sides' most urgent and necessary issues will be considered when deciding which products and services are to be included in the early harvest program.
