Afghan police say a bomb concealed on a bicycle in the southern part of the country has killed eight people.
An additional 38 people were injured in Wednesday's blast in a district north of Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province.
The bomb exploded near people who had gathered to receive free vegetable seeds provided by the British government as part of a program to encourage them not to plant poppies. So far there have been no immediate claims of responsibility for the bombing.
