Anti-terror cooperation urged between US and India

The US Ambassador to India has claimed that the US and India face common enemies. Speaking during his meeting with the Indian Interior Minister on Friday, Timothy J. Roemer repeated President Barrack Obama's phrase that the partnership was "indispensable".

Roemer said, "We see a common enemy in al-Qaeda, Taliban and Lashkar-e-Toiba and we are working hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder and minute by minute. Better exchange of information, collection and analysis of information, of intelligence and counter-terrorism capabilities to try to better protect people in India, in this region and United States....This partnership between India and United States, as President of United States said it is the defining partnership of 21st century. He has also called it indispensable partnership."

Both sides pledged cooperation on counter-terrorism issues.Their meeting comes amidst reports that the Mumbai terror suspect, American David Coleman Headley, who is standing trial in the US, has pleaded guilty.
