Palestinian protesters have clashed with Israeli police in multiple areas of the West Bank to protest against Israel's settlement plan.

The construction plan is causing anger with many Palestinians who see the area as the capital of their future state.

Hundreds of Palestinians clashed with Israel police Tuesday in several locations in East Jerusalem, and more than 40 people were injured and dozens of Palestinians were arrested.

Violence is escalating since Israel announced it would build 1,600 new apartments for Jews there.
