Tensions remain high in Thailand where tens of thousands of anti-government protesters have converged in Bangkok.

The deadline they have given the government to call a new election is just five hours away. Exiled former Prime Minister, Thaksin Shinawatra, has expressed his support for the demonstration.

About 100,000 supporters of Thailand's former leader sung pro-democracy folk songs and danced, as they flooded onto Bangkok's main streets.
