The Iraq war movie "The Hurt Locker," has taken the Oscars by storm winning six of the major film honors, including best movie and best director for Kathryn Bigelow. She becomes the first woman to win Hollywood's top filmmaker prize.
The low budget movie beat off competition from the highest-ever grossing Avatar.
Mark Boal, Writer of The Hurt Locker, said, "To be standing here, this was really, truly, honestly never part of anything we even imagined in our wildest dreams. So thank you so much."
The film also brings Bigelow Hollywood's top prize. She's the first woman in the 82-year history of the Oscar to win it.
