Beijing: Akio Toyoda apologizes to Chinese consumers for recalls

Toyota's President Akio Toyoda is in Beijing to answer questions about the beleaguered automaker's massive vehicle recall.

At the press conference, Akio Toyoda spoke about the company's quality problems and apologized for the inconvenience they brought to Chinese consumers. He introduced the quality problems in the US and the company's measures to handle them. Toyoda attributed the quality and safety problems to the its rapid growth.

He said Toyota's development in the quality of its staff and organization did not catch up with its business standards. Toyoda said his company will further strengthen the safety and quality of its vehicles. We'll bring you the latest details in our upcoming bulletins.
