Toyota's chief executive, Akio Toyoda, has apologized to the US Congress and millions of American Toyota owners for safety lapses that led to deaths and widespread recalls.

There have been mixed reactions towards Toyoda's testimony. Americans are still doubting Toyota's quality while Japanese people have expressed support for the beleaguered automaker.

Jessica Lin and her family suffered serious injuries in an accident in 2007 while driving a Toyota vehicle.

She blames the car's fault for the tragedy, saying the accident could have been avoided if the company had taken action earlier.

Toyota accident victim Jessica Lin said, "The 2005, I don't know why they haven't recalled it. I think it's posing a lot of danger because my dad has always been a safe driver, and I don't even know how this whole thing happened."

The family, along with many other Toyota owners, question the safety of Toyota vehicles.

Jessica Lin said, "I don't feel confident about Toyota any more. I was a faithful Toyota fan, but not anymore, definitely not anymore."
