The White House has confirmed the capture of the Afghan Taliban's second in command. It says the seizure of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar in Pakistan was a big success while confirming it for the first time on Wednesday.
Robert Gibbs, White House Spokesman, said, "Obviously the Pakistani Government has confirmed that Mullah Baradar is in custody. I am not going to get into information that we are getting from those interrogations. I do think, obviously this was the number two Afghan Taliban and the operational chief and it is a big success for our mutual efforts in the region."
