The Berlin film festival turns 60 this year, and a host of Hollywood stars will walk the red carpet over the next 10 days to mark the anniversary.
The red carpet has already been rolled out ahead of the start of the event on February 11th. 26 films will compete in the final round. Among them are two Chinese films, including "A Woman, A Gun And A Noodle Shop" by Zhang Yimou. And the opening film is Chinese movie "Apart Together." It was directed by Wang Quan'an, who won the Golden Bear best film award in 2007 for "Tuya's Marriage."
Dieter Kosslick, Festival Director, said, "The reason why we chose 'APART TOGETHER' to be the opening film is that the content of the film coincides with Germany's destiny. It's been 20 years since Germany was reunited. And the film shows how a Chinese family was separated and then portrays their reunion."
