The UN's political chief, Lynn Pascoe, has met with the DPRK's top legislator, Kim Yong Nam, in Pyongyang.

The DPRK's official news agency, KCNA, reported the meeting, but did not mention any further details. Pascoe is the first high-level UN official to visit the country since 2004.

Upon his arrival in Pyongyang, he told Xinhua that he and DPRK officials would mainly discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the UN and the DPRK.

During his visit to South Korea, Pascoe said he expected to talk about a wide range of issues with DPRK officials.
