The Public Procuratorate in Shanghai has filed charges against four Rio Tinto employees for bribery and improperly obtaining trade secrets.

The Procuratorate says their illegal activities severely impacted China's steel and iron industry.

The four suspects include head of Rio Tinto Shanghai office, Australian citizen Stern Hu, and three local employees. They were arrested in August.

A Shanghai court has accepted the case.
