Melting glaciers cause border tension

In the heart of equatorial Africa, the ice caps have been shrinking fast over the last 2 decades. Environmental issues aside, the melting glacier is also contributing to boundary issues between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

"Mountains of the moon", imagined by ancient Greeks as the source of the Nile River.

Standing at 5000 meters above the sea level, the Rwenzori mountain range is the third highest in Africa.

But due to climate change, the glaciers of the Rwenzori are slowly disappearing.

Scientists predict a total loss of the ice masses ringing Africa's three highest peaks sometime in the next 2 to 5 decades.
