Iran's President says his country is ready to send its enriched uranium abroad in exchange for nuclear fuel.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told state television on Tuesday, that there are no problems in sending enriched uranium abroad. But he added that if the West did not give 20 percent enriched fuel in return, Iran would produce it on its own. Ahmadinejad's comments come a week after Iran and the UN nuclear watchdog said a deal on uranium enrichment was still possible.
Under the deal Tehran would transfer 70 percent of its low-enriched uranium abroad for conversion into special fuel rods to keep its nuclear medicine reactor running.
