Voting for a key presidential election has ended in Sri Lanka. The candidates are the country's incumbent president Mahinda Rajapaksa, and his former army command General Sarath Fonseka. Millions of Sri Lankans are deciding who will lead the nation's recovery from a brutal civil war both men helped win.
It's been just eight months since the two candidates led the country to victory in the 3-decade war against the Tamil Tiger rebels.
Though they were close partners in the campaign to defeat the rebels, a bitter falling-out drove Fonseca to the opposition, and turned Rajapaksa's expected easy re-election into a tight and bitter race.
Sri Lankans crowded polling stations on Tuesday throughout Colombo to decide which of the two will lead the nation's recovery.
