South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have agreed to hold another working-level meeting on February the 1st to discuss operations at their joint industrial park.

South Korea wants to talk about transport, communications and customs operations at the joint park, along with accommodation for workers there. However, South Korea says wage hikes, which the DPRK is demanding, is not an issue to be decided at government level. Earlier this week, a 16-member South Korea delegation visited the border town of Kaesong where the industrial complex is located.

They held discussions with their DPRK counterparts about further developing the joint complex. The Kaesong complex is a key element of inter-Korea cooperation. About 110 South Korean factories employ some 42-thousand DPRK workers, mostly producing labor-intensive goods.
