The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has threatened to exclude South Korea from future peace talks. The declaration was made on Friday.

The country's National Defense Commission announced, in a statement, that South Korea would receive "pitiless retaliation," and will be excluded from any negotiations on bilateral ties, if it enforces a new government emergency plan.

The South Korean plan in question lays out how the South might deal with the North in the event of a leadership collapse, coup, or popular uprising.

The DPRK is also demanding that the scheme's masterminds be brought to trial, and demands an apology.

Also on Friday, South Korea revealed the DPRK has accepted 10 thousand tons of corn in aid. The assistance measure was originally proposed last October.
