Shortly after the Cairo meeting between Mahmoud Abbas and Hosni Mubarak, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said the recent change of mood may allow a resumption of peace talks with the Palestinians. He says Israel is ready for that.
Netanyahu said, "Israel is prepared to enter into negotiations immediately with the Palestinian Authority without preconditions. Certainly, during these negotiations, each side is free to state its position, and we are serious in our intention to reach a peace agreement. But we will insist the results of these negotiations will be set around the negotiating table at the end of the process and certainly not at its start."
