Special Report: Failed Christmas day attack |

The US Embassy in Yemen has remained closed for a second day. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says its reopening depends on security conditions. In a joint news conference with the Qatari Prime Minister, Clinton said that internal unrest and a surge in al-Qaida activity in Yemen pose a global threat.

Hillary Clinton said, "The instability in Yemen is a threat to regional stability, and even global stability, and we're working with Qatar and others to think of the best way forward to try to deal with the security concerns and certainly we know that this is a difficult set of challenges, but they have to be addressed."
