Iran warns to take hard line against protesters

Iran's interior minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar is warning a harder line will be taken against anti-government protesters.

The Minister is ordering police to crackdown on anyone staging a gathering or involved in riots. Meanwhile, Sadeq Larijani, the country's judiciary chief, says rioters are protesting against the founding principles of the regime itself.

Last Sunday at least eight people were killed during anti-government protests including the nephew of the opposition leader, Mir Hossein Mousavi.

The confrontation between clerical rulers and their opponents returned to the streets in recent weeks, after a harsh crackdown immediately following the June 12th election.
