Premier Wen Jiabao has said China is serious about achieving its carbon dioxide emissions reduction targets.

Wen Jiabao made the remarks at a Beijing meeting with climate representatives from India, South Africa, Brazil and the G-77 group of developing nations. Premier Wen said China's target was set following comprehensive scientific research and is a realistic one. He said the country must make great efforts to achieve the target.
The Premier also says China will work with other countries to help bring about a reasonable and realizable outcome at the Copenhagen climate conference next month.
Foreign representatives attending the meeting applauded China's efforts in fighting climate change. They agreed developing nations should work together to tackle the challenges ahead and achieve sustainable development.
